Sweden

Flying to Stockholm was one of those memorable events that I won’t forget in a hurry.

We had a 6am flight from Paris, Orly 2nd of March 22 so had stayed out near the airport in a terrible little hotel that I won’t reccommend.

We’d been to so many airports that when something goes wrong I can’t work it out how we don’t learn. We checked in fine, then seeing we still had a fair bit of time thought we would get our caffeine fix.

Sitting lesurely at the coffee shop we had a croissant and coffee and chatted eventually thinking we might head to the gate. But when we got to the bag checks to our shock there were hundreds of people lined up. Thats fine, we had time, but we didn’t and as usually i always get and I mean always get pulled up.

It was at this point that I notice our flight status was boarding and we still had not had our two bags scanned. I asked Keeley to go to the gate and see what was happening and to our dismay they were about to close the gate as apparently we also had to get a bus across the tarmac!

She had run at high speed the whole way back and said we might miss the plane.

I am sweating now and then they pulled my bag, really hate this pressure. Keeley took her bag and ran back to ask them to wait for me. The coffee kicked in and I really needed to pee so bad, I finally got the bag and ran with it all 10kg the entire way to the gate which of course had to be the last gate in the building. Totally about to pee my pants we made it as they were closing the gate and got on the bus to a lot of really unahppy campers.

Note to self, get to the gate before the coffee.

But we arrived safely to see the land of living IKEA and rendeer pelts. Checking off the last item on Keeleys to do list….

See snow.
