Sick society and concrete for the lonely

Have you ever considered that society as a whole is designed to make you sick?

Imagine discovering that the life you’ve been living has been unscrupulously planned and fabricated to make you unwell.

It’s not a crazy thought.

When you take the time to breathe and look at the illnesses that are on the rise or epidemics as one might call them it nearly all coincides with our way of living/ eating.

Obesity, cancer, depression, chronic fatigue, irritable bowel syndrome, suicide and these are just a few, the list is long and morbid.

And when you look at this list in postmodern society dating back to the 17th century many of them didn’t exist. And some will say there were a multitude of other things to die from, however in this modern day we have more choices and a better standard of living, well most of us do.

I say this only according to my life as aforementioned which despite exercise, drinking a lot of water, a relatively healthy diet I was still sick. Sick enough to be stressed throughout most of it, sick enough to drink more than I should, sick enough to experiment with drugs. Sick enough to consider ‘what is this all about, what is the purpose of it all?’. Is that living your best life?

With more awareness now among the general population and certainly after COVID, the words capitalism, globalisation, consumerism are discussed more frequently, openly and aggressively than ever in my lifetime. Coming to the jungle has opened my eyes to so many things, that whether it was my ignorance, propaganda, tyranny or brainwashing in everyday life, I did not know or understand.

One word that comes to mind is Wikileaks, isn’t that just the icing on the cake? How can a human wanting to share information be a criminal, and let’s add Aaron Swartz to this chat, god forbid you can get a free education, that’s a billion dollar industry.

The reason I bring these two among countless others we know about is that this is how we learn to be healthy, education. Cure cancer (see Dr Ryke Hamer and his vilification).

It would be the downfall of modern-day consumerism if we knew everything and could make our own choices, what would the elite ruling class do if we stopped eating up their shit? So, to the point, this is just one more reason to travel out of your comfort zone. Stretch yourself, explore, demand more knowledge, stay places that make you think. Be more than a tourist, flip the narrative and grow.

As an explorer and not a tourist it allows you to redefine what the ‘best you’ might look like. Away from the tv, the propaganda, Netflix, away from what social media is telling you how you should act and look. Maybe today, step aside and look at yourself naked and raw and ask “is this who I want to be?” if the answer is ‘no’, then ask next ‘who do I want to be?’ Then, when you know, go show the world who you really are and not the other way around.
